Along with the redesigned edition of the 911 model (992.2), Porsche also prepared the Carrera T version, which this time can also be obtained in combination with a soft folding roof.
The offer of redesigned models of the immortal “elfers” that hide behind the internal designation 992.2 has been expanded with the Carrera T(ouring) version, which this time will also appeal to fans of classic solutions, and in Stuttgart they decided that one of the lightest 911s will be available this time as Cabriolet.
At the same time, the updated 911 Carrera T, whose mass is 1,490 kilograms, will no longer be available in combination with the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (PDK) that was optional in the previous edition, because it is responsible for power transmission only to the rear axle this time. only a manual 6-speed gearbox with a lever whose wooden ball reminded us of the gear lever solution from the famous racing model 917 with which Porsche achieved the first of its 19 Le Mans victories 54 years ago.
The value of the maximum torque (450 Nm) available to the three-liter 6-cylinder boxer biturbo engine has not been increased, but the maximum power of the engine is now 394 hp at 7,500 rpm instead of 385, which is enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h for 4.5 seconds and 295 km/h.
In addition to the Carrera T, whose windows are lighter than standard, Porsche has prepared even more efficient brakes with larger diameter discs protruding behind 20- and 21-inch aluminum rims, and with the adaptive suspension, the combination of improved stabilizers and steering via the rear axle will help overall handling. In addition to the aforementioned glass and less material for sound insulation, customers are also offered optional seats made of carbon for additional weight loss.
The starting price for the 911 Carrera T Coupé in Germany is 141,700 euros.
