China’s BYD has announced that the Yangwang U9 electric supercar has reached a top speed of 391.94 km/h, setting a new record as the fastest car in China.
This speed was achieved on the German test track in Papenburg.
At the same time, it is the third fastest electric car in the world, after “Aspark Owl SP600” (438.73 km/h) and “Rimac Nevera” (412 km/h).
The Yangwang U9 was launched in February this year, and shipping began in August. The car is 496 cm long, and the wheelbase is 290 cm.
The roof is made of carbon fiber and a rear spoiler comes as standard.

It is available in three colors: “Moonlight Silver“, “Argyle Purple” and “Cabernet Danzhu“.

When it comes to range, the Yangwang U9 is equipped with an 80 kWh LFP battery, with a CLTC range of 450 km and the ability to quickly charge from 30% to 80% in 10 minutes.
