Xiaomi’s SU7 electric car model is experiencing remarkable demand, driving the company to increase Xiaomi electric vehicle production multiple times to keep up. Despite this, demand for the Xiaomi SU7 EV shows no signs of slowing.
Production for the SU7 electric vehicle initially increased from 10,000 units per month to 13,000, and then, in October, Xiaomi ramped it up to over 20,000 units. According to a recent report from China, Xiaomi plans to manufacture 24,000 units in both November and December, targeting an impressive total of 48,000 vehicles by year’s end. This rapid growth is essential for Xiaomi to manage the soaring number of orders, with current delivery times averaging 21 weeks.
Xiaomi’s First-Phase Production Capacity
Xiaomi’s first-phase production facility has a capacity of 12,000 units monthly, with operations now running nearly 200% through multi-shift work. The company is also constructing a second production phase facility, which is scheduled to open by mid-next year, in July or August. When completed, the facility will increase Xiaomi’s electric car production capacity to 300,000 units annually, helping to ease pressure on deliveries and reduce wait times for the popular Xiaomi SU7 electric vehicle.
