Morgan has announced the end of production of the Plus Six early next year, marking the end of an era. To mark this, the company introduced a new Pinnacle version of the model, which has “features derived from special customer orders”.
The retro-inspired exterior is largely unchanged, but buyers can count on satin silver trim, as well as a flip-up style fuel filler cap with a polished finish. The Roadster will be available in any color.
Bigger changes are noticeable in the interior, which is covered in Pawn, Explore or Riviera leather produced in collaboration with the company Bridge of Weir. In addition to the special upholstery, the seats are more elegant and feature unique stitching and Pinnacle embroidery.
The upholstery is made of sheepskin, and the decorations are made of teak. A special detail is the aluminum Pinnacle logo, which is inserted into the veneer of the center console and pays homage to Japanese inlay.
The car is powered by BMW’s 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine, which develops 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 267 km/h.
Morgan plans to produce just 30 Pinnacle Edition examples, ending a five-year production run of the Plus Six model, during which it produced nearly 1,000 cars for customers in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Price ranges from £96,995 upwards.
Next year, Morgan will present a completely new flagship, which is still a mystery. It will reportedly have a modern design.
