The two most powerful electric models of the British car company will for now be produced by the Chinese company Spotlight Automotive, which was founded by BMW and Great Wall Motors.
Not long after the presentation of the new generation crossover/SUV model Countryman JCW powered by a two-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine (300 HP) in the British car company under the auspices of BMW, they used the Paris Motor Show to premiere the two new JCW models that represent Mini\’s most powerful editions. powered by electric motors only.
The three-door electric Mini JCW and its roomier/more practical five-door body version under the name Aceman are based on the same platform, powered by an electric motor over the front axle that develops 258 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, an extra 40″ and 20 Nm compared to the previous most powerful versions of electric Minis.
The potential of the electric motor, whose maximum power with the “boost” function can be 285 hp for a short time, is enough for the shorter JCW to reach 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, and the longer Aceman in 6.4 seconds.
The commitment to performance is visible in the elements on the body and in the dark cabin, but also in the choice of brakes that can be seen behind the 18-inch aluminum rims (19-inch with Aceman) with adequate tires.
The battery capacity (54.2 kWh) should be enough for the three-door JCW to travel up to 404 kilometers on a single charge, and the larger JCW Aceman up to 391 kilometers.
Charging batteries from 10 to 80 percent on fast chargers will take less than half an hour. The first copies should be available to customers in Europe from April next year.
