Aston Martin celebrates the 60th anniversary of the film “Goldfinger” about the film hero and British agent James Bond, and on this occasion presented a special car based on the DB12 model.
Production will be limited to 60 examples and each will come with a range of gifts including a car cover, key box, Silver Birch Speedform model and more.
Deliveries are expected in the second quarter of 2025, and the cars will be powered by Mercedes‘ 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, which delivers 680 hp and 800 Nm of torque. The standard model with this engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 325 km/h.
Announced last week, the model pays homage to the iconic film that featured the DB5, and was also the first time Bond drove an Aston Martin. This collaboration continued and became one of the most successful in the world of film and has been going on for decades.
And while Bond’s car was equipped with various gadgets and weapons, the DB12 Goldfinger offers a more “refined” driving experience, but still contains subtle details from the film. The bodywork is painted in Silver Birch silver color, which also adorned the movie car.
Designers have also created unique 21-inch rims, behind which are black brake calipers. There are also gold side stripes, a silver and black Aston Martin logo and Q badges on the fenders.
The changes continue inside, where there are leather seats finished in “classic DB5 style with a pattern reminiscent of James Bond’s classic suit”. A perforated pattern also adorns the ceiling, doors and running boards, and there is also a plaque with the inscription “60ldfinger Sixty Years”.
To appeal to fans of the said film, the interior is decorated in 18-karat gold, and there’s also a shift knob inspired by the gold tracking device used in the film. The interior uses glossy carbon fiber trim, as well as gold metal details.
The designers also added an embroidered “eight heart” on the driver’s side visor, which refers to the card seen in the last pullback during the famous scene in Miami.
